<p> Position Description: 4-H Club Leader Agency: Brunswick County Cooperative Extension</p><p>Position Title: 4-H Club Leader (If it is a co-leader position, they would just assist in this job)</p><p>Major Objectives: To organize & manage a youth community, project, or traditional 4-H club</p><p>Major Responsibilities: Attend county leader meetings for training & updates Develop club calendar with youth to schedule activities & events Communicate with Extension Agent and Cooperative Extension staff Completion & submission of annual membership enrollment forms & medical release forms, charter application, treasurer’s book Recruitment of 4-H club members Coordination of parent volunteers/helpers Designing and/or scheduling of educational activities for club meetings</p><p>Qualifications: Work well with youth & other adults Organizational skills Communication skills, written & verbal Time management skills</p><p>Training & Preparation: Participate in orientation for new volunteers Learn to design age appropriate activities Learn about available 4-H curriculum</p><p>Time Requirements: Meet once monthly (minimum) with club & planning time (will vary)</p><p>Location: Coordinate with the Extension office to identify appropriate meeting areas</p><p>Length of Commitment: One year, renewable</p><p>Benefits: Becomes part of the 4-H team to impact youth in the county Participate in quality training experiences Satisfaction of working with young people Access to 4-H curriculum for youth development Recognition as a volunteer</p><p>On the Job Supervision: 4-H Program Assistant, Leslie Wilson Position Description: Recruiter of Volunteers Agency: Brunswick County Cooperative Extension</p><p>Position Title: Recruiter of Volunteers</p><p>Major Objectives: Identify potential volunteers Refer potential volunteers to the county 4-H staff</p><p>Major Responsibilities: Recruit volunteers Provide a general orientation of 4-H & volunteer application to potential volunteers Work with county 4-H office staff to publicize volunteer opportunities</p><p>Qualifications: One years experience as a 4-H volunteer Familiarity with the county & its communities Good communication skills, written & verbal Understanding of and compliance with confidentiality agreement Familiarity with the county 4-H’s marketing materials</p><p>Training & Preparation: 4-H volunteer training Thorough knowledge of 4-H orientation materials</p><p>Time Requirements: Varies (flexible with volunteer’s schedule)</p><p>Location: Brunswick County Extension Office Other negotiated sites (refer to county 4-H staff)</p><p>Length of Commitment: One year with some flexibility for negotiation</p><p>Benefits: Gains knowledge of county & communities Builds increased network with new contracts across county Improve & develop marketing skills Recognition as a volunteer with county 4-H program</p><p>On the Job Supervision: Monthly (or as need) formal & informal meetings scheduled with the 4-H Program Assistant, Leslie Wilson</p>
