(use only the information given, do not make assumptions, but you could use information you glean from hpfb.org) Scenario 1 Write a press release for the following event: Every year the High Plains Food Bank challenges Boy Scouts all over Amarillo to collect food. This annual Food Drive is called “Scouting for Food”. Your goal is to write a press release that will compel local media to develop a story. Don’t make up any details but write only the information you know. (Although you can also utilize other resources you find on the internet) HINT: hpfb.org HPFB quotes: be sure to site Zack Wilson, Executive Director: “This is an annual event that helps not only the Amarillo community but the entire Texas Panhandle.” </p><p>“The Boy Scouts are known for their dedication to their communities, and this is another way they show how much they car.” Boy Scout quotes: be sure to site Dan Scout: “We are so happy to collaborate with the High Plains Food Bank, and collect food for many who do not have it.”</p><p>“Scouting for Food teaches our Scouts about the needs of the community, and is a hands-on activity that puts them right in touch with that community’s needs.” Scenario 2 You have 140 characters to tell the public why it’s important to donate to the High Plains Food Bank. Scenario 3 You receive this comment on the HPFB Facebook page: I volunteered there and hated it. How would you respond? Scenario 4 Describe what you do better than anyone else? (Keep in the context of communications, although knowing how awesome you are at yoga is interesting it’s not what we’re looking for.)</p>
