This annual Food Drive is called “Scouting for Food”. Your goal is to write a press release that will compel local media to develop a story. Don’t make up any details but write only the information you know. (Although you can also utilize other resources you find on the internet) HINT: hpfb.org HPFB quotes: be sure to site Zack Wilson, Executive Director: “This is an annual event that helps not only the Amarillo community but the entire Texas Panhandle.”

“The Boy Scouts are known for their dedication to their communities, and this is another way they show how much they car.” Boy Scout quotes: be sure to site Dan Scout: “We are so happy to collaborate with the High Plains Food Bank, and collect food for many who do not have it.”

“Scouting for Food teaches our Scouts about the needs of the community, and is a hands-on activity that puts them right in touch with that community’s needs.” Scenario 2 You have 140 characters to tell the public why it’s important to donate to the High Plains Food Bank. Scenario 3 You receive this comment on the HPFB Facebook page: I volunteered there and hated it. How would you respond? Scenario 4 Describe what you do better than anyone else? (Keep in the context of communications, although knowing how awesome you are at yoga is interesting it’s not what we’re looking for.)
