Have students answer the following questions while watching the video:</p><p> a.i. Write the definition of information technology in your own words a.ii. Use the concept of information technology to describe how it can help you procure food. </p><p>Teaching Plan and Strategy / Presentation of New Material 1) Do an initial PowerPoint to introduce information technology and supply chain, have students take notes during presentation: a. http://people.emich.edu/hlee1/ch01SCM.ppt b. http://www.bus.iastate.edu/ysuzuki/TrLog360/class%20slides/Coyle%20Chapter %206%20PowerPoint%20Slides.ppt 2) Have students go on the internet and find a product to purchase outside the United States. Next, map the steps it takes to place the order, and explain how it will physically get to your house. </p><p>Activity/Application/ Student Engagement /Laboratory 1) Use the internet to define the following terms: Electronic data interchange</p><p> Electronic procurement (e-procurement) </p><p> Enterprise resource (ERP) system</p><p> Global positioning systems (GPS)</p><p> Radio-frequency identification (RFID)</p><p> Warehouse management systems (WMS)</p><p> Office automations system</p><p>2) For each word above, describe how it would be involved with the process of a pair of shoes being made in China and being transported to a store near your house. </p><p>Evaluation / Summary</p><p>Have students create a fictitious business, and then develop a presentation, movie, or poster that define the following:</p><p>What product or service will the business offer?</p><p>In what format will the business offer these products or services?</p><p>How will the business source or deliver these products or services to customers?</p><p>How will the business identify and develop a customer base?
