<p>2013-2018 STC Postsecondary Strategic Plan</p><p>Action Plan by Year</p><p>Year 1: 2013-2014</p><p>Goal 1: Student Learning: Examine and improve educational programming to maximize student learning.</p><p>Plan: Set goals, assess student learning outcomes and promote continuous improvement.</p><p>Action Step:</p><p>1. Review programmatic responses to the accreditation self-study recommendations and suggestions pertaining to student learning and program improvement.</p><p>2. Review existing program assessments to improve student learning outcomes.</p><p>3. Establish assessment plan cycle and use results to improve student learning outcomes.</p><p>Time Start: Year 1</p><p>Duration: 5 Years</p><p>How will we know action is achieved: Student learning outcomes and assessments are articulated by program director, program coordinators and staff. </p><p>Goal 2: Student Retention/Enrollment Management: Effectively recruit and retain a population that aligns with STC Postsecondary mission statement and consistent with STC standards.</p><p>Plan: Increase standards for admission, examine current admission policies to attract higher level students, and continue to enhance the STC’s image in the community.</p><p>Action Step:</p><p>1. Expand efforts to identify and address factors that improve student retention/graduation rates. 2. Provide institutional financial aid opportunities to attract and retain qualified students.</p><p>Time Start: Year 1</p><p>Duration: Ongoing</p><p>How will we know action is achieved: Increase in applications from previous year, retention plan is initiated, factors that affect student retention are identified, financial aid is reviewed at all orientations and students receive a ‘financial aid” handbook.</p><p>Goal 3: Student Remediation: Effectively provide student services to meet the needs of the students</p><p>Plan: Enhance current and create new support services that strengthen student learning.</p><p>Action Step:</p><p>1. Review existing remediation plan that exists for PN program.</p><p>2. Establish remediation services for CDL and HE students.</p><p>Time Start: Year 1</p><p>Duration: Ongoing</p><p>How will we know action is achieved: Identify existing remediation plan and its effectiveness. Create support services for CDL, HE, and COMBO programs.</p><p>Goal 4: Community Outreach: Enhance existing and create new partnerships, OAC members.</p><p>Plan: Increase new learning experiences, increase number of OAC members maximizing educational opportunities.</p><p>Action Step:</p><p>1. Develop and begin to implement marketing strategies.</p><p>Time Start: Year 1 & Year 2 Duration: 4 Years </p><p>How will we know action is achieved: Retention rates improve after factors are addressed, admission policies reviewed and updated and new marketing strategies have been put into action.</p><p>Goal 3: Student Remediation; Effectively provide student services to meet the needs of the students</p><p>Plan: Enhance current and create new support services that strengthen student learning.</p><p>Action Step:</p><p>1. Provide staff professional development on teaching the adult learner.</p><p>2. Implement remediation services for CDL and HE students.</p><p>3. Implement tutoring if necessary.</p><p>4. Review PN retention rates and review current PN remediation plan.</p><p>Time Start Year 2</p><p>Duration 4 Years</p><p>How will we know action is achieved: PD activities are attended by staff, PD form is completed, support services for CDL and HE are identified based on students’ needs, and PN dropout rates decrease.</p><p>Goal 4: Community Outreach: Enhance existing and create new partnerships, OAC members.</p><p>Plan: Increase new learning experiences, increase number of OAC members maximizing educational opportunities.</p><p>Action Step:</p><p>1. Continue to expand efforts to increase STC’s image.</p><p>2.
