<p> Minutes : GBP MidSouth Region Council - Executive Committee Meeting </p><p>November 22, 2003 </p><p>Roll Call: Dr. Saye, Jason Smith, Christy Cagle, Meagan Knorr, Julie Baumeister, Christopher Kimbrough, Justin Smoker </p><p>Regional Project Bring items to the convention Items will be donated to Children's Hospital and Boys and Girls Club </p><p>Regional Convention September 25, 2004 in the Black Cultural Center Talked about planning an activity for the Friday night before the meeting Round Table: Parliamentary Procedures Fundraising - Dr. Saye Distinguished Chapter Award Website (after Justin graduates) Scrapbook - collection of pictures from all chapters Banner for National Convention - GC&SU chapter is looking into it </p><p>National Convention Caucus preparation 8:30am Sat morning (Feb. 14th) to get the region ready for the business meeting Christy will be the Regional Delegate Each Chapter gets 2 votes; 1 Advisor and 1 President/Student National Executive Committee elections will be held Jason and Christy are running Each Chapter is asked to bring items for door prizes ($25 limit) to the meeting Jason will be putting together 2-3 gift baskets from items received Items will be split by states - GA, TN, and KT/IL Jason will email Chapters to request gifts </p><p>Other Topics T-Shirts for MidSouth Region - Sean made the last Regional Convention's Next meeting - After July 6th in Knoxville, TN Other miscellaneous topics </p><p>Minutes from the September 27, 2003 Convention Roll Call: Georgia College & State University Georgia Institute of Technology Georgia Southern University Georgia Southwestern State University Eastern Kentucky University Belmont University Bethel College University of Tennessee – Knoxville University of Tennessee – Martin </p><p>Officer Reports: Treasurer Report Balance $ 3660.93 Deposits to be made 540.00 Travel Expenses (?) Estimated Balance $4200.93 </p><p>Money for the Scholarship is now available and will be paid to last year’s recipient as well as this coming year’s </p><p>Guest Speaker – Jimmy McNutt, NEC (National Executive Committee) Two new schools chartered California State University – Channel Islands Penn State University – Shenango </p><p>National website is gammabetaphi.org : Forms are downloadable Chapters are asked to keep NEC updated on officers, advisors, etc. NEC provides all chapters with blank invitations – an example of wording is on the web site Emailing invitations is acceptable An example is to electronically invite students then give a hard copy to students actually inducted Invitations should include an Introduction, the Informational Meeting date and the date and time of Induction Two National Scholarships are available – application is on the website Certificate of Merit (COM) are awarded at the local, state, and national level </p><p>National Convention will be February 14, 2004 Location is Nashville, Tennessee at the Sheraton Music City Hotel This year’s theme is “Children First, Children Now” Distinguished Chapter awards: Georgia Institute of Technology University of Tennessee – Knoxville Chapters in Good Standing: Bethel College Georgia Southwestern State University Austin Peay State University Southern Illinois University New address for National – listed on website </p><p>New Business: Call to vote on suspending the 30-day waiting period to discuss consolidation of positions – motion failed Next MidSouth Region Council Meeting will be held at University of Tennessee – Knoxville MidSouth Region Theme – Kids First Similar to National Theme There is a huge need for pajamas in the Knoxville area </p><p>MidSouth Region website http://web.utk.edu/~gbp/midsouthregion/ </p><p>Election of 2003-2004 Officers Faculty Advisor - Dr. Donna Saye (GSU) President - Jason Smith - University of Tennessee – Knoxville Vice President - Christy Cagle - University of Tennessee – Knoxville Secretary - Julie Baumeister (GA College and State University) Treasurer - Meagan Knorr - Georgia Southern University Historian - Sean Mannion (GSU) Reporter – no nominations Parliamentarian - Christopher Kimbrough (GSU) Webmaster - Justin Smoker - Georgia Tech Scrapbook winner – University of Tennessee – Knoxville </p><p>Scholarship Applications due February 1, 2004 Will be presented at the National Convention on February 14.
