
<p> Development Opportunity Would you like to become a Volunteer HIV Awareness Trainer? </p><p>Applicants MUST be able to attend three full days training on 24th, 25th & 26th February 2016 and be available for on-going session delivery, mentoring & development as detailed below.</p><p>The Sexual Health Training Team is seeking to expand its Volunteer HIV Awareness Training Team.</p><p>If you are a permanent employee of the Belfast or South Eastern HSC Trusts’ and have at least 1 years’ experience delivering training or education as well as a keen interest in HIV and sexual health why not apply to join the HIV Awareness training team?</p><p>Trainers’ engage on a voluntary basis and must have prior agreement from their Line Manager before committing themselves to becoming a Trainer. </p><p>There are no costs attached to becoming an HIV Awareness Trainer, with all support and training provided for free including a training manual, resources and on-going support.</p><p>Time Commitment in the first year:</p><p> Initial 3 day training course Follow-up mentoring and supervision with a mentor for the year following training which will include:</p><p> Observing 2 HIV Awareness Sessions Co-facilitating 4 HIV Awareness Sessions</p><p>Following successful induction:</p><p> Preparation and delivery of a minimum of four half-day training sessions annually (one per quarter) Two days’ training and support annually. Two HIV Training Team meetings per year</p><p>D:\Docs\2018-04-22\05cd5203c67e0dacfbfdf9eccea9d5fd.doc HIV Update Day (1/2 day event- Wednesday 18th May) Regional Sexual Health Conference (1 day event held in mid-November).</p><p>Essential Criteria for applicants is as follows:</p><p> Be a permanent employee of Belfast or South Eastern HSC Trusts’ and have at least 1 years’ experience of delivering training, education or group work </p><p>Must be able to:</p><p> Demonstrate a positive attitude in respect of HIV, Sexual Health and related issues. </p><p> Comfortable talking about HIV and sexual health, demonstrating sensitivity to people’s anxieties around these issues. </p><p> Demonstrate effective communication and group facilitation skills and be willing to facilitate group discussion around such sensitive issues e.g. sex, condom use, stigma and discrimination (training provided).</p><p> Demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative </p><p>Must commit to:</p><p> Attending 3 full days training on 24th, 25th & 26th February 2016 and commit to a schedule of follow up monitoring and supervision and session delivery.</p><p> Being an active part of the HIV training team for at least 2 years.</p><p> Providing the minimum of four half-day HIV awareness training sessions each year across the Trust. .</p><p> Keeping Continuous Professional Development up to date relating to HIV and sexually transmitted infections and sexual health.</p><p>Register & Apply</p><p>D:\Docs\2018-04-22\05cd5203c67e0dacfbfdf9eccea9d5fd.doc If you are interested in being a Volunteer HIV Awareness Trainer then please register your interest, (including contact details and best contact number to reach you on), to:</p><p>Email: [email protected]</p><p>Closing date for registering interest Tuesday 15th December 2016</p><p>NB.
