<p> Gold Coast Airport Pty Ltd</p><p>Position Description</p><p>Position: Environment Coordinator</p><p>Location: Gold Coast Airport</p><p>Department: Environment</p><p>Reports to: Environment Manager </p><p>Status: Permanent Full Time</p><p>Agreement: Common Law Contract ______</p><p>Purpose of the role:</p><p>To ensure that Airport operations are compliant with applicable Environmental Legislation and relevant standards.</p><p>Key Result Areas:</p><p>1. Quality and WH&S </p><p>Staffing responsibility: Vegetation Maintenance Officer(s) </p><p>Liaises with:</p><p>Internal: Management and staff at all levels</p><p>External: Relevant external stakeholders including Federal/State/Local government departments/agencies, consultants, airport tenants and the community.</p><p>Environment Coordinator Gold Coast Airport Pty Ltd 1 of 5 Review date: 11/05/2011 Duties and Responsibilities </p><p>1. Environment  Ensure compliance with environmental statutory requirements including associated approvals and GCAPL’s Environment Management System EMS).  Ensure required operational environmental monitoring takes place and results are reported within required timeframes.  Assess adequacy and provide advise regarding environmental management associated with Airport development.  Liaise with tenants regarding environmental aspects and carry out audits to monitor and promote environmental compliance.  Initiate and supervise environmental consultants to ensure agreed deliverables are achieved within approved budgets.  Assist with periodic review of EMS.  Liaise with the Airport Environment Officer (on site regulator) regarding development and operational matters as required.  Encourage environmental awareness across the site.  Assist with other environmental aspects as requested by the Environment Manager.</p><p>2. Management and Leadership  Monitor direct reports performance and outcomes against agreed goals/targets and HR Policies.</p><p>3. Administration, Reporting and Record Keeping  Maintain records in accordance with record keeping and EMS requirements.  Prepare relevant environmental reports related to development and operational requirements. </p><p>4. Training  Ensure relevant training of direct reports is carried out.  Ensure environmental induction requirements associated with construction projects are fulfilled.  Assist with other environmental training requirements as requested. </p><p>5. Quality and WH&S  Promote and comply with relevant WH&S requirements; and  Provide quality internal and external customer service.</p><p>Environment Coordinator Gold Coast Airport Pty Ltd 2 of 5 Review date: 11/05/2011 Person Specifications</p><p>Knowledge, qualifications and experience  Completed tertiary studies in an environment or science field or equivalent;  Minimum 3 years experience in a similar field;  Completed formal auditor training and experience in environmental audits;  Knowledge of or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of environment legislation and standards relevant to the Airport;  Experience working with regulatory agencies;  Report writing experience;  Experience in analysing technical information and presenting findings in graphical and written formats; and,  Ability to train and direct small groups.</p><p>Skills and competencies  An ability to work independently with minimal direction;  Good written and verbal skills (eg reports, briefing papers, training);  Good computer literacy (Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint etc.);  Sound problem solving and decision making skills;  Sound organisational, time, task, planning and priority management;  Able to meet prerequisites for obtaining appropriate level of aviation security clearance; and  Good personal presentation.</p><p>Personal attributes</p><p>Responsibility and accountability – Responsible and accountable for own and direct staff practices and standards of work and able to work with minimal supervision. Environment  Prompt completion of tasks conducted in compliance with environmental requirements.  Required environmental monitoring and report preparation undertaken within required timeframes.  Airport developments are appropriately assessed and advice provided in relation to environmental matters.  Effective tenant liaison regarding environmental aspects undertaken, including tenant environmental audits.  Consultants are adequately supervised to achieve objectives within prescribed budgets.  Effective liaison with AEO regarding operational and development matters undertaken.  Environmental awareness encouraged across the site. 2. Management  Direct Reports monitored for performance and outcomes against and Leadership agreed goals/targets and HR Policies. 3. Administration,  Records maintained in accordance records keeping and EMS Reporting and requirements. Record Keeping  Administrative responsibilities fulfilled.</p><p>4. Training  Training for Direct Reports is current.  Environmental inductions for airport developments are carried out. 5. Quality and  WH&S awareness encouraged across the site.
