<p> Through the Looking Glass: Reflections on Life With Mental Illness</p><p>May 8, 2013 </p><p>Submission guidelines</p><p>Eligibility</p><p>Submissions are encouraged from agencies across the state of Maryland who are members or affiliates of Community Behavioral Health or On Our Own of Maryland. Artists are encouraged to submit up to 3 pieces of art through their agency. </p><p>How to Enter:</p><p>Entries must be submitted electronically by Monday, April 5, 2013. </p><p>Images must be in JPEG files less than 2MB in size</p><p>For entries, please fill out the entry form and attach to the email</p><p>Name of submitting organization and contact person</p><p>Name of the artist</p><p>Title of the work</p><p>Price or Not for Sale</p><p>Size</p><p>Images should be labeled with Organization, Last name first initial, title</p><p>Example: ArundellodgeSmithJBreathe </p><p>Emails subject line: EntriesLooking Glass name of submitting organization</p><p>Send to: [email protected] </p><p>Sales: Artists may choose whether to make their works available for sale. This is a one day event, and works will be sold during the event. The event committee has chosen to give 100% of sales back to the artists through their submitting organizations. Checks will be made out to the organizations. </p><p>Work:</p><p>A maximum of 3 original works of visual art per artist may be entered. Works must have been created within the past 3 years, and must reflect the theme in some way. Accepted works will be hung from the walls or ceiling, or will be displayed on tables.</p><p>All works must be framed, wired, or professionally finished and ready to display. The art committee reserves the right to accept/not accept works based on needs , size, number of submissions, and subject matter. Work which is not prepared to hang or display will not be included in the show. </p><p>Once works are accepted, delivery procedures will be sent out. Works will either be mailed in or delivered in person the week before the show, to an address in Baltimore. Works will be picked up directly after the event, or at a pre-determined time. We will be continuing to display electronic images of the works at the NAMI Walks for the Mind of America event in the Inner Harbor on May 19th. Last year, 5,000 people attended the event. NAMI will also disseminate information and photos of selected artwork and artists statements through the NAMI Maryland website, with permission from the artists, to further extend the reach of this public education through art. </p><p>Liability</p><p>We will do our best to take good care of the artwork while in our possession, but we cannot be held liable for theft or damage. Pieces submitted for the exhibition are at the artist’s risk. In the event of damage or theft, the event committee will not be held liable. If insurance is desired, the artist must carry it. </p><p>If you have any questions, please email (preferred) Katerina Evans at [email protected] or call 443- 433-5961</p><p>Timeline for the event:</p><p>February - submission guidelines sent out</p><p>Contact Katerina Evans [email protected] with any questions</p><p>April 5th - deadline for electronic submissions </p><p>April 19th - Acceptance emailed out to organizations, along with postcard invitations for the show and instructions for dropping off artwork</p><p>April 29th - May 5th - delivery of artwork (instructions sent with acceptance, by appointment)</p><p>May 8th - Come to the event! 1-5 at the American Visionary Art Museum.
