<p> CHINESE I (SECONDARY)</p><p>ESSENTIAL UNIT 2 (E02)</p><p>(Introducing Myself) (September 2013)</p><p>Unit Statement: In this unit the students will know how to introduce themselves to others regarding his/her name, country and birthday.</p><p>Essential Outcomes: (must be assessed for mastery)</p><p>1. The Student Will memorize and speak greeting words in Chinese. (Interpersonal Communication)</p><p>2. TSW read and recite 5 names of selected countries and languages. (Interpretive reading and Presentational speaking)</p><p>3. TSW properly introduces himself/herself to other people. (Interpersonal Communication)</p><p>4. TSW identify and understand all unit vocabulary words (Interpretive Listening and Reading)</p><p>5. TSW recognize from memory the following characters: 哪儿/where, 可是/but, 有 时侯 sometime, 汉语/Chinese, 还/still, 因为/because, 健身房/gym, 中 国/China, 美国/America, 德国/Germany, 法国/France, 英国/The United Kingdom, 日本/Japan, 看/look, 电/movie, 课/class. (Interpretive reading)</p><p>6. TSW follow the rules for writing Chinese characters: 叫/given name is, 什 么/what, 名字/name, 姓/surname, 在/in, at, 7. /no, not, 家/home, 了/a particle to indicate change of a situation, 生日/birthday, 几/which, 月/month, 号/date, 国/country, 去/go,学习/learn, 谁/who, 住/live. 一/one, 二/two, 三/three, 四/four, 五/five, 六/six, 七/seven, 八/eight, 九/nine, 十 ten. (Interpretive reading and Presentational writing)</p><p>8. TSW recognize and recite numbers from 0 - 20 in Chinese. (Interpretive listening and Presentational speaking)</p><p>9. TSW converse with classmates using words for telling the date, month and year. (Interpersonal Communication)</p><p>10. TSW self-select and read level-appropriate literature independently for at least 30minuts per week. TSW write basic Chinese characters using proper rules and stroke order. (Presentational writing)</p><p>Required Texts and Materials: </p><p>1.
