
<p> Red Ribbon Week - 2013 Effingham County Middle School</p><p>Red Ribbon Week is a national drug awareness campaign celebrated each October. It began in 1985 after the death of Enrique Camerena, a federal enforcement agent who was killed in the line of duty. This celebration provides us with an opportunity to renew our commitment to a healthy and drug-free lifestyle. We will also focus on an anti-bullying message. This year’s overall theme is “PAWS and Think – Don’t Do Drugs!” </p><p>Tuesday, October 22 Today’s slogan: Make PAWS-itive Choices Slogan pencils will be distributed </p><p>Wednesday, October 23 Today’s slogan: Set Goals to Make Your Dreams PAWS-ible Technology stickers will be distributed – Delete Drugs; Life is Tweet Drug Free; I Tune Out Drugs; Read My Text – I’m Drug Free; You Can’t Friend Me If You’re Not Drug Free</p><p>Thursday, October 24 Today’s slogan: Build PAW-some Character Each Day Friends Don’t Let Friends Bully or Do Drugs bracelets will be distributed</p><p>Friday, October 25 Today’s slogan: Keep Your PAWS Off Drugs Take a Stand; Lend a Hand; Stop Bullying tags with chain will be distributed Students may wear a red shirt School-wide assembly – Freestyle Connection BMX Show</p><p>Natural High videos will be shown throughout the week.</p><p>Drug awareness/anti-bullying announcements daily.</p>
