<p> MLA Citation Basics</p><p> Notice that book/magazine titles and web site names are in italics, if hand written they should be underlined.</p><p> Authors names are listed Last, First</p><p> Medium of Publication will generally be either print or web</p><p> Remember to Capitalize titles and companies </p><p> Double Spaced</p><p> Hanging Indent</p><p> Alphabetical (by first item listed in the citation – usually the author) </p><p> If an item is unavailable leave it out (like if you can’t find a date on a webpage.)</p><p>Here are the formats for the four basic types of sources you will use.</p><p>Encyclopedia:</p><p>Author’s name Last, First. “Title of Article.” Name of Encyclopedia. Print.</p><p>Internet:</p><p>Author’s name Last, First. “Document title.” Web Site Name. Date of publication. Sponsoring Institution. Medium of Publication.
