To give people credit for their work and ideas To support or prove statements you make in you assignment Not having a bibliography is plagiarism, which is the stealing of another person’s work or ideas</p><p>What has to be included in the bibliography? AUTHOR TITLE CITY WHERE THE BOOK WAS PUBLISHED PUBLISHER DATE OF PUBLICATION PAGE NUMBER(S) </p><p>What is the format?</p><p>1. Books: Author’s last name, Author’s first name. Title of Book. City: Publisher, Year.</p><p>For Example:</p><p>Orwell, George. Animal Farm. London: Secker and Warburg, 1946.</p><p>Here’s another Example: 2. Magazine article: Author’s last name, Author’s first name. "Title of Article." Title of Magazine Date: Page(s).</p><p>For Example:</p><p>Dominus, Susan. "Why Pretty Isn’t Pretty Enough Anymore." An annotated bibliography gives an account of the research that has been done on a given topic. Like any bibliography, an annotated bibliography is an alphabetical list of research sources. In addition to bibliographic data, an annotated bibliography provides a summary of the source and an assessment of its value or relevance. Also included would be information (one sentence) on the author and his or her background. </p><p>Now let’s practice! Use the samples provided by your teacher to create a bibliography. </p>
