In addition, states that the Department for Public Health shall collect public health information, identify health risks and establish policies for reducing health risks through communicable disease control, public health education and public health emergency response activities. </p><p>PROVISION/MECHANICS: Amends KRS 211.005 to specify that the role of the Department of Public Health includes data collection, identification of health risks, and establishment of policies to reduce health risks; Specifies mandated services of the state Department for Public Health and local health departments; Permits personal preventive services to the extent that funds are available; Requires the state Department for Public Health promulgate administrative regulations; cites the Act as the Kentucky Core Public Health Act. </p><p>FISCAL EXPLANATION: HB 771/GA will not have an additional state fiscal impact because the duties outlined are currently being conducted by the Department for Public Health and local health departments. </p><p>DATA SOURCE(S) Cabinet for Health Services</p><p>NOTE NO. 186 PREPARER Cindy Schweickart REVIEW DATE 3/14/00 LRC 2000-2252GA</p>
