LIST of ARCHIVE DOCUMENTS from CUMBRIA CC Related to COWANS SHELDON CIVIL ENGINEERS of CARLISLE The particular Cumbria CC web site can be accessed using the link below: http://www.cumbria.gov.uk/archives/Online_catalogues/default.asp Then click on Catalogues in the left hand column. The Cowans Sheldon overall reference is DB40 for this archive, use this in the Advanced Search facility. Once in the Catalogues area, you can do a search for what you require, such as engine turntables, this will come back with a list of the first 10 items (documents/drawings), that constitutes a page, just above the list, it will tell you how many pages there are in the search list, you need to increment through the pages to try to find what is required. When logged on to the web site, to find the drawing details (not the drawing itself), you need to click on the blue item number in the left-hand column (not by the way, those in this document). You can search for more specific items such as 50’ engine turntables, but you may miss some of them as I found typing errors in the list, so be a little cautious in your search. This document has three (3) Tables in it, the first, Table 1, is a shortened version containing all turntables in the official on-line catalogued area. The second, Table 2. is the complete list of the official on-line catalogued documents, it does also contain the turntables mentioned in Table 1. The third, Table 3, is a complete list of all documents that have not yet been added to on-line catalogued. Tables 1 and 2 have the same format, they show the catalogued DB40 reference and drawing number of the item in the second column, a brief description of the item in the third column, and the date of the document in the last column. Table 3 shows the Cowans Sheldon order number in the first column, the drawing number in the second column, a brief description in the third column, and the date of the document in the fourth column.
