For over 130 years, we have stood tall and weathered We are challenges, educating students and making a positive impact in Greece and around the world through the work of our educators and alumni. We have given birth to the Anatolia brightest of stars; educational role models, forward- College thinkers, paradigm shifters and disruptors. The essence of Anatolia College’s mission is to be an open and inviting academic center for young learners of every background. We believe that every student should receive the highest quality of education. Each student is empowered and inspired to make a difference inside and outside the classroom, shaping today, tomorrow and the next century. Anatolia College is an American non-profit educational institution operating in Greece, serving all levels of education. We depend on charitable gifts to offer unmatched resources and programs that we believe can transform students and change their future. As a non-profit institution, even the smallest donation makes a difference; from providing funding for infrastructure, spaces and new programs, to scholarships and class material. Armed with nothing more than their belief in the transformational power of education and the desire to of stories empower the less fortunate, these visionaries laid the foundation to what was to become modern-day Anatolia College. Since then, more than 12,000 alumni have followed in their path, many of them creating a powerful, inspiring story. A story that transformed them. Α story worth sharing. A part of you has always been a part of us, a part of the Anatolia College community. Even unknowingly, we’ve shared your story. Because we share the same ideals, characteristics, passion - we share a common vision. It’s up to us to make it a reality. See yourself in our students; in their past, present and future. We believe in our core commitment to provide world-class, innovative, educational opportunities that empower Greek We are made youth. • We provide more than 37,000 hours of community of social service annually, helping disadvantaged children, building and repairing schools and community centers, teaching responsibility English, helping those severely affected by lingering economic crises and, most recently, providing assistance to refugees. • We continue our long tradition of promoting diversity and access through a landmark Scholarship Program. This program has provided thousands of students with millions of dollars in grants over the past 50 years. Currently, approximately 25% of Anatolia College students receive scholarship assistance. • We host extracurricular educational programs and competitions annually that engage more than 6,000 students from every part of Greece and from other countries, including Turkey, Germany, India and the United States. We invest in people, and want to see them flourish. We invite them We are to find themselves through our academic programs and achieve their goals. We help them hone their skills and grow further than ever imagined. Seeing that change in them will help them bring made of future change to the world in turn, wherever life might take them. Education on its own is empowerment, but it is not enough. We need to expand the concept of education, nurturing and pioneers cultivating talents and intriguing inquiring minds from an early age. To that effect: • We host the Center for Talented Youth - CTY Greece, established with the support of the Johns Hopkins University and the founding donation of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. CTY Greece represents a dynamic initiative for the youth of Greece, one that discovers and nurtures some of the most gifted and talented young people. A pre-college residential program for high school students on the Anatolia College campus, CTY Greece is also an elementary day program in Thessalonikiand Athens. • We also operate an Entrepreneurship Hub with programs for budding entrepreneurs throughout Greece. The program supports start-ups through lecture series, mentorships and investment opportunities. To date, hundreds of individuals have benefitted from the Entrepreneurship Hub, resulting in businesses that provide jobs and strengthen the Greek economy. • We organize the Anatolia College Science & Technology Annual Conference (ACSTAC) at our high school level, modeled on professional scientific conferences, created for students. In addition to exciting curiosity in and understanding of the sciences, ACSTAC strives to promote collaboration, creativity, decision-making and self-expression. We encourage each participant to reach his or her personal and academic best. After all, history has shown that, given proper support and encouragement, students can accomplish spectacular things. Building a brighter Greece, one student at a time The Campaign for Anatolia College’s next century We are raising funds for three critical areas that will transform Anatolia College for its next century. With your help, we can achieve the change we want to see in the world. 1. We are made of openness The Student Access and Success Project will: • Endow scholarships for elementary, high school, and college students to respond to the increasing need created by the economic crisis. • Establish an endowed scholarship fund for the Center for Talented Youth (CTY) to continue Anatolia College’s support for gifted Greek youth who benefit from this enrichment program. • Construct a multi-purpose Student Center at the American College of Thessaloniki to serve as the heart of ACT, to cultivate community spirit and to amplify student success. 2. We are made of knowledge The Academic Excellence Project will: • Establish an endowed fund for faculty development to provide Anatolia College teachers with new, innovative learning opportunities using the latest in technology. • Further develop the Innovation Isle (STEM), which includes a fabrication lab and a green chemistry lab, part of our Center for Green Education, a world first at a high school level. • Create more flexible learning spaces that promote new and innovative pedagogical approaches and methods. • Upgrade library and infrastructure programs, improve technology provisions, enhance collections and preserve historical archives. 3. We are made of inspiration Campus enhancements and innovations serve to further accommodate our shifting learning paradigm and new educational model. Investing in new infrastructure and technology (in new spaces, classrooms and labs, etc.) allows education to inspire and gives room for students to grow beyond their potential. The Campus Enhancements Project will: • Build a new, unified Elementary School campus with modern state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure to replace aging, outdated buildings. • Upgrade and expand facilities for the International Baccalaureate Program to support growth in this academically challenging and rigorous curriculum. • Improve outdated classrooms and laboratories at our century-old high school. • Introduce environmentally friendly systems to improve energy efficiency and Anatolia College’s carbon footprint.
