As soon as he joined the committee, he jumped right in, making an effort to contribute ideas and get to know everyone. He followed through without complaint. Even better, he did it with a smile. We are lucky to have him!” – Holly Dysserinck, Assistant Complex Director IHC representative As an IHC representative, D’Angelo maintained good academic and judicial standing and displayed excellent leadership skills. I am pleased to have the opportunity to write this letter as a recommendation on his performance as a student leader who attended a variety of conferences and utilized many leadership opportunities last year within University Housing and Dining Services at Western Illinois University. D’Angelo served in the role of a Bayliss-Henninger representative to Inter-Hall Council and also attended student conferences such as IRHA and NACURH last year. In addition to attending these conferences D’Angelo contributed a great deal of time and energy to the delegations including presenting bids, working on bid presentations, and working with his peers to create displays. D’Angelo has been an excellent addition to the WIU community and has worked hard to serve his peers. As a former advisor of D’Angelo, I was able to see him grow into a visible leadership role while maintaining a great rapport with his peers. Recently, D’Angelo transitioned into the resident assistant role and has continued to work hard with his team to advocate and support the residents in the Lincoln-Washington-Grote hall complex. D’Angelo’s kindness, open-mindedness, and leadership experiences are an asset to the people he interacts with. He is able to work with a variety of people and has contributed actively to the greater WIU community. Overall, I enthusiastically support D’Angelo for Student of the Year.
