Belcher Road Clearwater, FL 33764 (727) 531-1418 | www.cbsclearwater.org RABBIS’ GREETING The World Stands on Three Things: Torah, Service, and Good Deeds (Pirkei Avot) Congregation Beth Shalom is a robust Jewish community, offering a variety of opportunities to pray, study and socialize. We are proud to offer programming that reflects the diversity of interests and backgrounds of our members. Our classes are organized to offer unique opportunities that are appreciated by the greater Jewish community. From book clubs to cultural outings and Israel advocacy, study with the rabbis and our exceptional team of educated lay leaders, we are confident that you will find something to pique your interest. After a long time of separation due to the pandemic, CBS strives to be a source of connection, healing, and strength. We will continue to offer digital programming, in-person and “hybrid” events, so that all of our members can find a comfortable way to participate. We believe that there are many ways to get involved in Jewish community. Each touch point strengthens our kehillah (our Jewish community). This program guide will help you to plan for what we hope will be a satisfying journey through a year of learning and growth, in fellowship and friendship, sharing the pride of being part of the Jewish people. By the way, if there is a class topic that you would like to see offered, that is not currently on our roster, please be in touch so that we can grow together as a community. Pray With Us Kabbalat Shabbat and Shabbat Morning Services Shabbat services at Congregation Beth Shalom are held at 6:30 pm every Friday, and at 9:00 am every Sabbath morning. Our spirit-filled services include a blend of traditional and innovative prayers, drawing upon classic liturgical melodies as well as Hassidic style niggunim. Although the shared text is Siddur Sim Shalom, often the Rabbis infuse the service with alternative modes of prayer, including chanting and the use of silence. Morning Minyan Perhaps the one activity at the Congregation Beth Shalom that never takes a vacation is the morning Minyan. We come together to maintain the century-old tradition of public worship. More often than not, the core group is joined by those who, in grief, come to praise the Almighty by means of the Mourners’ Kaddish.
