Major Series Lacrosse Announces 2019 Entry Draft Selections Schedule Cobourg, ON – January 18, 2019 – The 2019 Ontario Major Series Lacrosse (MSL) Entry Draft of graduating junior-aged players will take place on Sunday, January 27th at the Cobourg Community Centre in Cobourg, Ontario. The Entry Draft is scheduled to begin at approximately 2:00PM. Results will be live-tweeted and fans are encouraged to following along with @MajorSeriesLax. Full results will be posted online following the selections at both www.ontariolacrosse.com and www.majorserieslacrosse.ca. A total of 30 players over five rounds will be drafted by the six MSL teams. The tentative draft order is found below, but the order may change based on trades or agreements between the teams’ general managers. Of note is the fact that the Brampton Excelsiors have 9 of the 30 available selections (30%) to be made in the 2019 Entry Draft, including five of the 12 available selections in the first two rounds. About Major Series Lacrosse: Major Series Lacrosse (MSL) is the Senior “A” box lacrosse league based in Ontario, Canada and sanctioned for competition by the Ontario Lacrosse Association (OLA). The league is comprised of six teams: Brampton Excelsiors, Brooklin Redmen, Cobourg Kodiaks, Oakville Rock, Peterborough Lakers and Six Nations Chiefs. Each year, the top four playoff teams compete for the right to face the Western Lacrosse Association (WLA) champion for the Mann Cup Senior “A” Box Lacrosse Championship of Canada, which is hosted annually in alternating years between Ontario and British Columbia. In 2018, the Peterborough Lakers defeated the WLA’s Maple Ridge Burrards in Game 4 of the Best of Seven series to capture their 17th franchise Mann Cup Championship title. .
