Bince PROVINCIAL RESOLUTION NO. 292-2018 ENDORSING TIIE BALINCAGUIN RI!'ER WATERSHED - STISTAINABLE INTEGRATED AREA DEVELOPMENT (srAD) ACTTON PLAN TO THE REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL FOR CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE FUNDING WHEREAS, Balincaguin River Watershed, the largest watershed in Western Pangasinan with an area of 38,033 hectares covering portions of the municipalities of Mabini, lnfanta, Burgos, Agno, Sual, Bugallon, Dasol and Labrador, has an axial length of44 kilometers from its farthest headwaters in the Municipality of Bugallon to its sea outlet in Agno, Pangasinan; WHER.EAS, the watershed has three (3) major sub-watersheds which are the Balite River Sub-watershed, the North Balincaguin River Sub-watershed and the South Balincaguin River Sub-watershed; WHEREAS, the watershed was selected as the pilot site for the implementation ol Sustainable Integrated Area Development (SIAD) Strategy; WHEREAS, the Program encourages an integrated approach in managing watersheds through participation of stakeholders including govemment institutions, civil society organizations and private sector in the planning and implementation of desi red i nterventions; WHEREAS, the Project was preliminarily devised to provide sustainable livelihood to the displaced workers from the closure of the mining companies rn the area and the rehabilitation ofthe damaged sites; . 2F Capitol Bldg., Ljngayen. Calimlim, Jr., and SP Members Liberato Z. Villegas and Noel C.
