I have performed many different roles in my career; from sprite artist, texture artist, environment artist, weapon and prop artist, vehicle modeller, character modeller, character rigger, creature animator, tool developer, to management roles like lead artist and team leader. These varied experiences have allowed me to develop my skills as a technical artist and I truly enjoy the challenges of this role. Though recently, whilst working a smaller games company, I have to admit to being more of a generalist than a true technical artist. My skills allow me to not only sculpt, model and texture an asset, but also rig, animate and import it into a game engine. My technical art skills allow me to maintain the import and export pipelines, develop new tools to enhance workflow, as well as set up and maintain animation state machines and animation blueprints in a game engine. It's all great fun! I also enjoy the challenges of working on projects outside of the limitations of games; rigging and animating objects using systems and deformers not supported within game engines. I pride myself on being a hard working, self-motivated professional with a passion to do my best on whatever project I'm working on. Key Skills ● I am skilled in Maya, Motion Builder, Vicon’s IQ, Photoshop and have experience in MudBox, 3DStudio Max/Character Studio, Substance Painter, AfterEffects, XSI/Softimage and Abode Flash. ● I have experience in SourceSafe, Perforce and Alienbrain Asset Management. ● I have experience using Unreal (3 and 4) and Unity (4 and 5) game engines. ● I have scripting experience in Mel in Maya, Python in Motion Builder and Jscript in Softimage and Maxscript in 3DStudio Max. ● I have experience in setting up and maintaining an optical Motion Capture studio. I have organized and directed motion capture sessions for both optical and gypsy suit captures. ● I have good communication and leadership skills.
