ISSUE 24 SETTING A RECORD AT THE THIRD AVIATION RUN The aviation community stood shoulder to shoulder to set the record for the largest human formation of an airplane in the Singapore Book of Records. The Singapore aviation community exhibited solidarity and commitment by turning up in full force and claimed a space in the Singapore Book of Records for creating the “Largest Human Formation of an Airplane”. The over 2,000-strong crowd came together to take part in the third Aviation Run held at the Changi Exhibition Centre on 16 November 2013 to help the less fortunate. Launched in 2011, Aviation Community Cares brings the aviation community together to contribute to society, including raising funds for the Community Chest to support the beneficiaries of its 83 charities. This year a total of $212,120 was raised for the Community Chest. “Bonded by a common passion, the continued and strong support for the Aviation Run is testament to the many generous hearts in the community,” said Yap Ong Heng, DirectorGeneral, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS).
