McCarthy on the bubble for PGA TOUR card Dan McCarthy, who earned his first Korn Ferry Tour title in Savannah, currently sits at No. 26 in The 25. With only two events remaining in the Regular Season, the 34-year-old could secure his first PGA TOUR card with a good finish at this week’s Ellie Mae Classic at TPC Stonebrae. It is estimated that players with 800 Korn Ferry Tour Points at the end of the Regular Season will secure their card. McCarthy currently has 631 points so far this season. McCarthy, originally from Syracuse, New York, has made the cut in 13 of 18 events this year. 3. Regular Season entering home stretch With only two events remaining in the Regular Season, players are looking to secure their spot on the PGA TOUR. With his victory last week, Harry Higgs became the most recent player to officially cement his spot on TOUR. Rafael Campos, who won The Bahamas Great Abaco Classic at The Abaco Club earlier this year, is one point away from the 800- point threshold estimated to secure players a PGA TOUR card. So far this season, 16 players have earned more than 800 points. At the conclusion of the WinCo Foods Portland Open presented by KraftHeinz, players with 375 points or more will likely earn a spot in the Korn Ferry Tour Finals. .
