A Judge must not judge a horse which he/she has bred, owned, sold or had any financial interest, at any time. The practice of a Judge advising on the purchase of, exhibiting, schooling or having at livery any horse(s) for someone or their immediate family and then judging any horses for the same owner during the current or previous year is prohibited by the Society. [Service fees for stallions and keep for mares whilst at stud are excluded]. Judges must not knowingly judge a horse produced by a producer, owner or their immediate families for whom they have shown any horse or has shown any horse for them during the current or previous year. If there is an unforeseen change of Judge then the owner or exhibitor must stand down from the class. 2 The Judge’s decision is final. Any objections must be made in writing to the Show Secretary within 30 minutes of the class ending with a £50 cash deposit which will be forfeited if the objection is not upheld. 3 The organisers reserve the right to rearrange times, amalgamate, alter or cancel any class and adjust prize money accordingly. 4 The organisers reserve the sole right to interpret regulations, conditions and to finally settle and determine all or any matter, question or difference arising from Show Policy. 5 Horses, where appropriate, may enter more than one class but the organisers will not be responsible if clashes occur. 6 Ridden exhibits must be 4 years or over, at least 153cm (15hh) and registered in the IDHS(GB) main studbook or on the IDSH register. 7 All stock entered in the Irish Draught In Hand Breeding classes must be the progeny of a Graded Mare (ID Class 1, ID Class 2 , RID, AID, or Supplementary Grade Up Register) and be by an ID Class 1, ID Class 2 or RID(GB) Stallion on the Irish Draught Breed register. 8 All stock entered in the Irish Draught Sport Horse In Hand Breeding classes must be Graded or eligible for Class 1 on the Irish Draught Breed register or registered on the Irish Draught Sport Horse register with the exception of non ID mares in class 10. 9 Horses entered in the Maturity In Hand class must be registered in the IDHS(GB) main studbook or on the IDSH register. 10 Measurements: Horses entered in a height regulated class or competing for a special award must provide a current valid height certificate or be measured on the day (½ inch is allowed for shoes). Measurements will be conducted on Saturday between 7 45 am and 8 45 am. Any horse without a valid height certificate will not be allowed to compete. 11 Entry fee refunds may be made in cases where the animal is incapacitated by injury or illness subject to an administration fee. A Veterinary Certificate must be lodged with a written claim to the Show Secretary within seven days of the Show. There will be no refund on booked stables. 12 All horses must be in the correct ownership. OWNERS OF ALL PURE BRED IRISH DRAUGHT HORSES IN BOTH IN-HAND AND RIDDEN CLASSES MUST BE FULL MEMBERS OF THE IDHS(GB). [This rule does not apply to Owners of Irish Draught Sport Horses] 13 All competing STALLIONS must be the progeny of a Graded Mare (ID Class 1, ID Class 2, RID, AID or Supplementary Grade Up Register) by an ID Class 1, ID Class 2 or RID(GB) stallion and be inspected or overstamped by the IDHS(GB) and classified as ID Class 1, ID Class 2 or RID(GB) OR be a Registered Irish Draught Sport Horse Stallion, and MUST display a red, white and blue ribbon in their tail and a white disc on their bridle. 14 All In Hand STALLIONS, and ONE, TWO and THREE YEAR OLD COLTS must be bitted and shown by an experienced handler of 18 years or over. 15 All riders and handlers must be 16 years or over (18 years or over for stallions and colts) 16 Tack: Bitless bridles, running gags, Market Harboroughs, side, draw or running reins are NOT allowed in any class. The use of Swales or Sam Marsh bits and gags with double bridles are actively discouraged. Boots and martingales are not permitted in any flat ridden class but martingales are allowed in jumping classes and front boots only are permitted for the jumping phase. No tack which conceals an animal’s conformation or identifies an animal, its owner or sponsor is allowed. 4 ANNUAL BREED SHOW RULES continued 17 Health and Safety: The organisers accept no responsibility for accidents to spectators, competitors, animals or their property, in connection with or arising from the Show. Admission is granted and entries accepted only on recognition of this condition. The IDHS(GB) accepts no responsibility for any injury arising from any failure to comply with the Show Rules. 18 It is the sole responsibility of all riders to ensure that, whilst on horseback, they wear appropriate clothing/footwear and a correctly fitting, secured riding hat/skull cap with an integral adjustable harness complying with the minimum current European standards. These hats are compulsory for competitors aged 18 years and under, and for all competitors in the jumping phase for any class. This also applies to handlers and grooms. 19 Lunging and working in will be permitted in designated areas. NO HORSE MAY BE LUNGED ON ANY OF THE ALL WEATHER SURFACES. 20 Should any horse be regarded by the judges/stewards to compromise the safety of other competitors or spectators, they will be asked to leave the ring. 21 In ALL ridden classes, a fall of horse or rider will lead to elimination from the class. 22 Horses must move around the Showground using the horse walks at a walking pace. NO PEDESTRIANS IN HORSE WALKS.
