The Yi Thiruvananthapuram Chapter under Mathew's Leadership has seen some great initiatives and activities this year under all its Focus Areas. The year started with the Special initiative like the Yi Pratheeksha 2015 : Book Donation Drive for under privileged students truly proves the important rolean organization like Young Indians plays in our society. Yi also launched couple of national initiatives such as Horn Not Ok Please campaign (HNOP) and Project MASOOM: An awareness Session on child sexual abuse in Schools in association with childline. Yi has also taken some very important initiatives in the year 2015-16 and through its initiatives in leadership development, events, workshops, projects on arts & heritage, creating environmental consciousness, engaging the student community in many of the above focus areas and using them as they are truly a powerful arm of Yi. We would like to see many more joint initiatives taken in the coming year between CII, Yi and IWN and work together in a more effective and productive manner by engaging more number of Young Leaders. This will enhance the overall productivity of the organizations. The year has witnessed a lot of hard work, unflinching commitment and efforts by all our members. I believe and hope that the coming year would bring about more positive participation and new initiatives that would further consolidate and strengthen the indominate spirit . I felicitate the entire team of Yi led by Mathews Veliyath & Kenney Jacob for their Passion and Leadership. Here's wishing there would be many more such achievements in the years to come. JOHN MUTHOOT Chairman - CII Thiruvananthapuram Zone & Chairman , Muthoot Fincorp Ltd MESSAGE FROM Yi CHAPTER CHAIR Dear Young Indians Team, It's another year 2015-16 gone past by and we have completed 7 years of Yi in making in Thiruvananthapuram. Each year has been interesting with the leaders taking turns in making Yi more meaningful. We have been moving ahead taking good steps forward. This year we have been fortunate to be more visible on face book and more than 600+ people are updated .The new members came in and took part in the activities in a good way very soon .We had done 35 events and there has been a variety in terms of engagements we have had . We had many firsts credited to our Thiruvananthapuram account interms of having 3 colleges joined as YUVA this year. New members attending the national events where the maximum networking and learning happens . We have also launched couple of national initiatives such as Horn Not Ok Please campaign (HNOP) and Project MASOOM: An awareness Session on Child Sexual Abuse, Inspirations talks by entrepreneurs has impacted good number of members and students. CII has been a good support with Yi in conducting events and having its distinguished members as part of our learning drives. My Co Chair for this year Kenney Jacob has been very kind to cover my absence in many of the events and deliver this outcome for the year 2015- 16 .His leadership skills have already started showing the positiveness which are awaiting to be seen to the maximum in the next year . Young Indians has 37 chapters across India now and I am sure all the Yi members will explore this knowledge and awesome member's pool to make India a better place under the leadership of Kenney Jacob from Thiruvananthapuram. Thanks for entrusting me the responsibility for this year and I will be part of the Young Indians Team in the future. MATHEWS VELIYATH Chair - Yi Thiruvananthapuram Chapter & Managing Director, Innovspring Infoserve MESSAGE FROM Yi CHAPTER CO-CHAIR Dear Young Indians, As Co Chair of the Young Indians, Thiruvananthapuram chapter, the last one year has been a wonderful experience for me. We as an organization have moved forward a lot from where we started, seven years back. Being a part of this journey, so far, has been a great satisfying one for me. At the membership engagement level also, we were able to conduct various activities in the last one year. We have also launched couple of national initiatives such as Horn Not Ok Please campaign (HNOP) and Project MASOOM: An awareness Session on Child Sexual Abuse. All these activities had been a success because of the unstinted support and cooperation from the chapter members as well as from the Yi secretariat. Let us uphold the vision of our organization - To be the voice of Young Indians globally, in the future as well. This most powerful rallying point, certainly inspires the spirit of patriotism in all of us. Let us also strive to keep the spirit of innovation, excellence, leadership and learning to be very much part of our organization. We should continue the activities under the various verticals and be part of the national events and international missions that are being carried out by Yi National. I hope we will continue to strive hard for our goals in the coming years as well, and thus take Yi to greater heights. But this can only be done with the help of our Yi members. Thank you. During the year there has been 14 Learning Sessions, 2 Learning Missions and 5 Special Initiatives, Among this International Yoga Day, Horn Not Ok Please Campaign and Project Masoom were the Mathews Veliyath, Chair, Yi Thiruvananthapuram Chapter & MD, significant Chapter events. Yi Thiruvananthapuram Innovspring Infoserve Pvt Ltd delivering the Acceptance speech. Chapter has strength of 34 members in the present year. Yi Thiruvananthapuram Chapter has done various initiatives and events under its various verticals. 6th Annual Meeting of Young Indians (Thiruvananthapuram Chapter) & Youth Leadership Summit 2015 7 March 2015, Thiruvananthapuram Young Indians Thiruvananthapuram Chapter celebrated its 6th Annual day for the year 2014 -15 on 7th March, 2015 at Hotel Hycinth, Thiruvananthapuram. Alongside the Annual day chapter also organized Yi Youth Leadership Summit 2015. The summit was focused on the Shashi Tharoor, Member of Parmiament (Loksabha) delivering the keynote theme like “Leadership in India” and “Thought address. leadership”. and Yuva members.
