La Carreta Trophy 2014 / Wallenberg Trophy 6 International tennis matches, played in the spirit of fairplay and sportsm- anship, were to be the catalyst. That Columbus Trophy 2016 7 spirit is still the same today. The IC has grown and there are Potter Cup 2014, 2015, 2016 8 – 9 now 40 countries around the wor- ld which have an International Club. Italy and France were the big winners, with IC Italy taking the Windmill and the Mercelis trophies, and IC France winning the Columbus and the Juego de Pelota tournaments. 10 countries (Austria, Bahamas, Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Lux- embourg, Mexico and the United States) participated with 27 teams taking place across four tennis clubs (Club Aleman, From left to right: Claudia Giovine, Cristina Gilardelli (Captain), Elisabetta Pulerá Club France, Club Raqueta Bosques and Reforma Athletic Club). 8 teams participa- ted in Windmill, 8 in Mercelis, 6 in Colum- bus and 5 in Juego de Pelota. Many IC players also participated in 4 Phi- lanthropy clinics, one per club, for the ball boys of the clubs. The ball boys were very exited to be able to interact with world known players and take some advice for their own games. For most, this was the first time that they took a tennis lesson. The social program organized by Roberto Pulido and his crew was magnificant. The venue and hospitality, organized by Alex Kurucz, president of IC Germany, were superb. Four IC teams participated: France, Germany, Belgium and Great Britain. The event was played on a round-robin basis and despite GB losing to France on the first day, they won the event, which was only decided after the last ball of the wee- kend was hit. GB and France ended with the same number of wins but GB lost one fewer set and therefore were declared the winners of the 2014 La Carreta Trophy.
