ETEP Results 2012 P. 76 ETEP Results 2011 P. 80 ETEP Results 2010 P. 82 For those few who don’t know, this initiative of Eurosonic Noorderslag, originated ETEP Results 2009 P. 84 by Peter Smidt and Ruud Berends, was introduced to make the “exchange” of ETEP Results 2008 P. 86 European artists across Europe possible on a greater scale than ever before. ETEP Results 2007 P. 88 ETEP then facilitates the bookings of European acts on festivals and generates ETEP Results 2006 P. 90 extensive radio and media exposure for these artists in co-operation with the ETEP Results 2005 P. 92 European Broadcasting Union and local media. The intention was - and still is - to ETEP Results 2004 P. 94 give a boost to the careers of European acts. ETEP Results 2003 P. 96 CEETEP P. 97 There is no doubt that ETEP has been more than successful in achieving its aims, CEETEP Results 2015 P. 98 and the figures speak for themselves: CEETEP Results 2014 P. 99 CEETEP Results 2013 P. 100 In 2003 the first ETEP resulted in 53 shows being played by 23 acts from 8 CEETEP Results 2012 P. 101 countries at 23 festivals in 13 countries. In total since then ETEP has facilitated 3518 shows by 1254 artists in over 30 countries. Last year, the programme’s 15th year, for the third time in a row managed to generate a record number of bookings for upcoming music talent on European festivals. With a total of 424 shows by 164 acts in over 30 countries, ETEP 2017 continued to facilitate the circulation of fresh, bright, young talent across the continent. Allan McGowan PHO TO 4 5 THE EUROPEAN TALENT EXCHANGE PROGRAMME The European Talent Exchange Programme (ETEP) is an initiative of The Eurosonic Noorderslag Foundation to stimulate the circulation of European repertoire on festivals, radio and media in Europe. As the exchange and support of new European music in Europe is one of the main goals of Eurosonic Noorderslag, ETEP was introduced in 2003. Each year ETEP brings together the leading European festivals, radio and other media and stimulates them to ‘exchange’ a selection of artists. Since the start of the ETEP programme in 2003 a total of 3518 shows by 1254 European 3518 SHOWS / IN 15 YEARS / BY 1254 ARTISTS artists were presented in over 30 countries (2003 - 2017). GENERAL OBJECTIVES The main objective of the ETEP project is to facilitate the circulation of European music, artists and productions and have the music industry and media working together to promote acts and their repertoire. THERE ARE FOUR SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: • To have as many as possible European acts programmed at as many European festivals as possible; • To promote European acts not only on festivals but in parallel through extensive media coverage; • To stimulate the music industry and media to work on the circulation European music repertoire; • To boost the international careers for European artists.
