Alternatively, follow signs to the train station indicated with ‘Tog’ (train) or ‘train’. An elevator/lift and escalators leading to the underground station is located towards the end of terminal on the left as you exit the arrival gate/area. Luggage trollies can be taken onto the escalator. The cost of a three zone ticket is 40 DKK. Tickets can be bought from the driver (DKK cash only), or you can use the klippekort (multi ride ticket). They can be bought at the convenience stores 7-11s and at train stations. Bus and train schedules in English can be found on the following link: http://www.rejseplanen.dk. For your reference, 100 DKK are about 14 EUR/ 17 USD. The screen will display the ‘spor’ (rail track/platform) from which the train will be leaving. The train into the City Centre can be identified as having the final station ‘Helsingør’. The direction of the train is clearly indicated on the sides and front of the train. All stops are announced on the train or shown on the digital signs inside the train. Trains depart from the airport at approximately 10-20 minute intervals, almost 24 hours a day. Please do take the train going towards Copenhagen Main Station. The journey will take approximately 15 minutes. You should exit the train at the Copenhagen Main Station (Hovedbanegården/København H). Make your way to platforms 9 and 10 and take any train as they all go in one direction (known as the S-Train and is red in colour). The same train ticket can be used. Nordhavn Station is only two stops to get to the hotel. Taxis: Taxis from the airport will cost approximately 300 – 400 DKK to reach the hotels. Taxis are expensive in comparison with the public transport, however, they are metered and reliable. An initial charge of approximately USD7 is made before the trip starts and is in addition to the cost of the journey. Taxis can be found outside most stations and the airport and accept cash (DKK) or credit cards. Public transport (buses, trains & Metro): Page 3 of 7 Public transport is reliable and easy to use. If you are planning to use public transport on a daily basis, it’s most economical to buy a klippekort 10 ride ticket (clip card/multi-ride card). The klippekort can be bought from any station kiosk (also in the airport) and the cost depends on the distance you are planning to travel. In the City Centre, you will need a 2 zone klippekort, which costs approximately 150 DKK (a single ticket for the bus or train costs 24 DKK). The tickets can be used on both buses and trains and once clipped, a 2 zone stamp is valid for 1hr 15 minutes so you are able to use several trains and buses within that time. You must remember to stamp your ticket before each use on buses, trains and metro trains, otherwise you may be fined up to DKK 700. A stamping machine can be found in yellow at all train stations and on board buses. Clip cards Stamping machine for validating tickets If you have a 2 zone klippekort to travel from the airport, you should stamp it twice (as you need to travel 3 zones from the airport to the City Centre) and you can use the rest of the klippekort for getting around town during the rest of your stay. Alternatively, if there are several of you taking the train it is recommend to purchase a 3 zone (yellow) clip card and all use this one card. Remember to stamp the card once for each person. Copenhagen hosts a very good metro system, but for the purposes of getting to and from the airport, hotel and venue, we recommend you do not use the metro as none are close to a metro line. TRANSPORT TO UNICEF SUPPLY DIVISION: By Taxi: In order to reach the UNICEF Supply division office, you can either take a taxi from your hotel or you can walk towards Osterport and can get a taxi from the main road. Please do check with your hotel for the nearest taxis. By Bus: Walk towards Nordhavn station (the hotel reception can advise you on directions) and walk towards the bus stop (See map below). Take Bus 26 (bus stop Folke Bernadottes Alle) in the direction of UNICEF Færgehavn Nord (a sign is displayed on the bus). Make sure that it displays UNICEF Færgehavn Nord on the bus as line 26 does not cater for this destination every time. You can check bus and train schedules in English at the journey planning site on the following link: http://www.rejseplanen.dk. Page 4 of 7 COSTS: Lunch: Lunch will be provided by UNICEF on the days of the meeting. A canteen is available at the workshop venue where you can purchase snacks and drinks (8.00am-3.30pm). The canteen only accepts cash in DKK (no credit cards). Dinner: Dinner will be hosted on 26th and 27th November, details to be confirmed. Please be aware that all costs for transport to and from the meeting venue, as well as accommodation for the duration of the meeting must be covered by participants. MEET AND GREET EVENT: We would like to welcome attendees who will be arriving in Copenhagen on the 25th November to an informal ‘Meet and Greet’ event.
