I shall respect my instructors and seniors, I shall never misuse Tae Kwon Do I shall be a champion of freedom and Justice I shall build a more peaceful world. Stances are named based upon which leg has the most weight on it. Walking Stances (front and side facing): The front leg has the most weight 60% so if the right leg is forward it would be a right walking stance. L-Stance: the rear leg has most of the weight on it 70%, so the stance is named for the rear leg. Therefore a right L-Stance would have the right leg back and the left leg forward. Sitting and fixed Stances: Weight is balanced equally 50% on both legs. 310 Hwy 31 North • Flemington, NJ 08822 • (908) 782-4009 x238 email: [email protected] http://www.HealthQuest-Fitness.com | Fitness For Life Cheat Sheet Old Name: New Name: Front Stance Walking Stance Back Stance L-Stance Cat Stance Rear Foot Stance High Block Rising Block Inner Forearm Block Middle Block Double Fist Block Guarding Block Square Block Twin Outer Forearm Block Twin Outer Forearm Block Wedging Block Reinforced Inner/Outer Forearm Double Forearm Guarding Block Block Reinforced Spear Hand Straight Fingertip Thrust Ridge Hand Reverse Knife Hand Low, Rising, and Outer Forearm Blocks prepare on top Middle Blocks Prepare on the bottom Kicks are named based upon their type and application (i.e. Front Snap Kick, Side Piercing Kick, Side Rising Kick, etc.).
