(2020). Virginia Woolf’s Perspectives of Death in Woolf’s “A Haunted House”. Yogyakarta: Department of English Letters, Faculty of Letters, Sanata Dharma University. Death is the end of the life of a person or organism. In literature, authors use death in literary works to express their perspective on death. Meanwhile, perspective is a point of view toward or regarding something. Virginia Woolf’s “A Haunted House” is an example of literary works which shows the author’s death perspectives through the character. It can also be seen through the author’s lifetime. Therefore, the writer analyzes the characteristics of the character, find the death representation pictured in “A Haunted House” and analyzes the author’s lifetime in order to find the author’s perspectives of death. This study has three objectives. The first objective is to identify the characteristics of the character in the “A Haunted House”. The second objective is to explain death representation pictured through the characteristics of the character. The third objective is to find the factors which influenced the author’s perspectives of death through the author’s lifetime. This study uses library research method. The primary source of this study is a story by Virginia Woolf’s “A Haunted House”. The secondary source is taken from relevant journal, articles, essays and books related to the topic of
