WALK-OUT Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, Leader of the Opposition alongwith all members belonging to PPPP, PTI, MQM, JI, ANP, QWP and some members of FATA staged a walk-out against non-inclusion of the Supreme Court and High Court (Extension of Jurisdiction to Federally Administered Tribal Areas) Bill, 2017 in the Orders of the Day. 2 STATEMENTS MADE BY THE MINISTERS 1. Mr. Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan, Minister for National Food Security and Research stated that issue of sugar-cane farmers relates to Provincial Government and suggested to constitute a committee comprising of representatives of Ministry of Commerce and Textile, National Food Security and Research, Ministry of Industries and Production and representative of all Provincial Governments to resolve the crises of farmers of sugar-cane. 2. Mr. Muhammad Pervaiz Malik, Minister for Commerce and Textile informed the House that grievances of sugar-cane farmers relate to the Provincial Governments. The role of Ministry of Commerce is to manage and permit exports of surplus crops, etc on recommendation of the appropriate body on merit. QUORUM Quorum.- At 6.02 p.m. Ms. Shahida Rehmani, MNA belonging to PPPP drew attention of the Chair towards the lack of quorum. Count was made, the House was found in order.
