Following a 6-3 win for the Quakes on Wednesday, Stockton leads the 2018 season series over Rancho six-games-to-two. TOURING THE MINORS: Quakes outfielder Logan Landon has been mobile throughout the Dodgers system in the early going. CAL LEAGUE SCOREBOARD Landon was called up from Rancho Cucamonga to Double-A Tulsa on April 30th where he played in one game. Shortly after, Landon was promted to Triple-A Oklahoma on 5/3 where he played in four games (2-for-8, 2 runs, RBI) before returning to the Quakes. Yesterday Against the Rawhide on 5/13, Landon hit the first walk-off home run of the season for the Quakes, a two-run homer on Mothers Day Inland Empire 6 at Lake Elsinore 3 to give the Quakes a 3-2 win over Visalia. Modesto 2 at San Jose 3 RIGHT VS LEFT: The Quakes are hitting significantly better this season against right-handed pitchers compared to left-handers. Visalia 2 at Lancaster 4 Over 1,176 at-bats against righties, the Quakes have accumulated 320 total hits, good for a .272 batting average. Rancho has seen far Rancho Cucamonga 6 at Stockton 3 less from south-paws this season totaling just 206 at-bats, scattering 51 hits for a .248 average. STARTING STRONG: Quakes starting pitchers delivered three strong outings over the weekday series in Lake Elsinore, 5/8-5/10. Today Andrew Sopko helped set the early tone, allowing just one run over six innings in a win on Tuesday. Dustin May pitched five scoreless frames and struck out a season-high nine Storm hitters on Wednesday night, while Tony Gonsolin packaged a scoreless five innings Rancho Cucamonga at Stockton, 11:10 AM on Thursday en route to his first win of the season. Prior to Dean Kremer allowing a run after 4.1 innings on Friday, Quakes starting Modesto at San Jose, 11:30 AM pitchers combined to throw 19.2 consecutive scoreless innings, a season high stretch for the rotation. Visalia at Lancaster, 6:35 PM CURRENT STREAKS: Gavin Lux saw a team-high 12-game hitting streak come to a close after striking out as a pinch-hitter in the Inland Empire at Lake Elsinore, 7:00 PM ninth inning of Saturday's game. Despite the streak coming to an end, Lux has still reached base on a hit in 20 of his last 23 games. During his streak, Lux has five three-hit games with 23 total hits. Omar Estevez has reached on a hit in seven of his last ten games Tomorrow and Cristian Santana has found the hit column in six of his last ten games. Zach Lake Elsinore at Rancho Cucamonga, 7:05 PM Pop has been transferred from Low-A Great Lakes to Rancho Cucamonga. Sunday, Quakes RHP Jordan Sheffield was placed on the Lancaster at Inland Empire, 7:05 DL with right-forearm tightness. Michael Boyle was been activated from the DL to the active Rancho roster. Saturday, Los Angeles San Jose at Stockton, 7:10 PM Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner was added to the Quakes roster as part of a MLB rehab assignment. MATHEWSON STARTS: Chris Mathewson (1-0) will make his first start of the season for the Quakes and second appearance the Stockton Ports on Thursday. Mathewson takes over in the starting rotation after RHP Jordan Sheffied was moved to the DL with 2018 QUAKES AT A GLANCE right forearm tightness. Bray allowed four runs on seven hits over five innings at Inland Empire in a no-decison his last time out. The San Diego, 1-2 CA native was a 13th round draft pick by the Baltimore Orioles in 2013 out of Feather River CC. He was aquired by the A's in Dec. of vs STK Road 1-4 2017 in a trade.
