Family 2021 18th Annual MAIT 3 MONTVERDE ACADEMY INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT Welcome to MAIT 2021 Dr. Kasey C. Kesselring Head of School, MAIT Founder, Montverde Academy Welcome to Montverde Academy. Our mission is to inspire students to become leaders with a passion for knowledge, global vision and innovation while developing character in a nurturing and diverse community. Athletics is an extension of that mission, teaching skills and technique, as well as motivation, self-discipline and an abundance of character. We do not measure our success by the wins and losses alone, but in how our student-athletes represent themselves and the Academy through sportsmanship and a commitment to perform at their very best. Our athletes are students first, and athletes second. As a college preparatory school, we expect our athletes to first master the challenge of being a good student and a good citizen within the school community. The measure of that accomplishment is again not found in wins and losses, but when a student has earned an invitation to attend one of the nation’s most competitive colleges or universities. While blessed with a successful basketball program that has achieved much local and national attention, it would be irresponsible of me as an educator and Head of School to allow this to define our existence. Founded in 1912, Montverde Academy has a long history of preparing young people to achieve great success in a variety of careers; today is no exception. I am equally proud of our students who are accomplished artists, musicians, debaters, actors, and academicians. The diversity of our student-athletes is representative of our school community. Montverde Academy students, representing more than 60 different countries, have traveled here to prepare for and pursue a dream of attending the most selective and prestigious colleges and universities. Having them here provides a global perspective unlike any other. On behalf of the entire school community, I welcome you to Montverde Academy! Dr. Kasey C.
