L ·----~-----J SUMMER 2008 REMEMBERING Rabbi Boruch Borchardt ""~t ial Yisroel mourns the loss of a pre­ cious and beloved member of the Agudah K adn1inistration and a devoted servant of the tzibbur, Rabbi Baruch Borchardt, ''''11, who was niftar this past Erev Shavuos. He was born in Hamburg, Germany in 1924. With the outbreak of World War II in 1939, he and his family escaped to Shanghai, where he developed a close relation­ ship with the roshei yeshiva and the talmidim of the Mirrer Yeshiva. Arriving in New York in 1947, he married Miriam Heynemann and settled in the Washington Heights section of New York. He joined the staff of Agudas Yisroel of America, eventually assum­ ing the position of executive director of the Rabbi Borclwrdt with Rabbi Mordec/111i \Vein berg, ':i"X, at right and n"7.J\ Rabbi Yisroel Belsky. organization.
