Gooch helped WKU post a 2-0 record in WKU 65, South Alabama 74 * 1:00 PM the 2013 Puerto Rico Classic, including an improbable 16-point comeback against Troy 77, Georgia State 85 * 2:00 PM Georgetown, as she scored nine points and nine rebounds while playing superb defense against a much large team from Georgetown. She had 21 points and seven THURSDAY, JANUARY 2 rebounds in the blowout of Belmont on the island. Gooch opened Sun Belt Conference play with a flurry, scoring 26 points and grabbing nine rebounds against South Arkansas State 66, UT Arlington 62 * 5:00 PM Alabama. She added three blocks and three steals in the game as well. She followed UALR 35, Texas State 42 * 5:00 PM up her best outing of the season with the best outing of her career against Troy. Gooch had 30 points and 16 rebounds, a new career best in points and a tie for the best mark SATURDAY, JANUARY 4 of her career on the boards, as WKU coasted to a 86-69 win, holding Troy to its third Arkansas State 87, Texas State 71 * 2:00 PM fewest points of the season. Gooch’s dominance has been seen all over the court as UL-Lafayette 68, UL-Monroe 49 * 2:00 PM she hit 5-of-8 from behind the three-point arc of WKU’s last four games, opening up Georgia State 57, South Alabama 65 * 2:05 PM opportunities around the floor for teammates.
