Wellington City Council Talent Development Programme 2012 Achievements This is a summary of achievements from the six sports that received Talent Development Programme funding for 2012. The sports supported this year are: swimming, diving, netball, hockey, yachting, and rugby league. This is the fifth year of the programme. Other sports that the Council has worked with include golf, kayaking, basketball, triathlon and softball. Wellington High Performance Aquatics 2010-2012 Yu Qian Goh and Jess Holland competed in the New Zealand Team for Asia Pacific Event, finishing 4th and 5th in very strong fields Li Feng Yang competed in the Olympic Qualifier event in August finishing two points behind the Australian diver Autumn Champs 2012 - Feng Yang broke the New Zealand Platform record by 258 points, the 3 metre for the 3rd time and the 1 metre record. Feng Yang is currently applying for New Zealand residency Yachting 2010-2012 Josh Junior ranked number 2 in the World in August 2011 Wellington Spirit had a podium finish at Spanish Open 2012 - Josh Junior and Matt Stephens Josh Porebski 6th Worlds 49er Netball 2010-2012 Three athletes in New Zealand Under 21 squad 2011 Under 17 National Champions Wellington Hockey 2010-2012 Wellington Hockey has developed from 9 age group New Zealand representative athletes to 32 age group representative athletes Blair Hilton and Stephen Jenness are currently in Black Sticks Team, the final selection for the Olympics is still to come Anita Punt is in the Women Black Sticks Team Swimming 2012 National Age Group Championships 2012 WRHPC swimmers won 11 gold, 11 silver and 3 bronze medals. The WRHPC broke 11 Wellington individual and 3 relay Records.
