In many of those years, the transition game and perimeter shooting have been very much to the 10th-year coach’s liking. This season, he sees all of those ingredients melding together to make the Pioneers (16-11, 6-7 NJAC) a New Jersey Athletic Conference title contender. Mario Rivero “We’re going to be a lot more athletic than we’ve been in the past,” Rebimbas said enthusiastically. “We have eight new faces who will contribute. We’re taller than we’ve been and we’ll look to push the ball a little more in transition because a lot of guys on our roster can handle the ball. Also, our perimeter shooting should be good.” Rebimbas likes the talent and versatility the Pioneers’ backcourt possesses. Senior Robert Nick Torres Sullivan, a transfer from Division II Minnesota State, is slated to start at point guard. His poise and selflessness will provide a calming effect on the offense. Fellow senior and co-captain Jason Vieira, a four-year contribu- tor, is among the team’s top athletes and will see time off the bench. At shooting guard is 6- foot-5 junior Feron McGee, a transfer from Brookdale Commu- nity College, who, according to Rebimbas, “Handles and passes like a point guard and scores like a wing player.” Jason Vieira 4 William Paterson University 2004-052004-05 PREVIEWPREVIEW Freshman Joey Spiegel, an All- Bergen County player at Teaneck High School last year, adds a capable scorer at either guard position. Others who will add depth to the Pioneers’ talented backcourt will include junior Kevin DelosAngeles, sopho- mores Andrew Ignaffo and Jon Torbick,
