Outgoing board member Ted Schoenborn was celebrated after 18 years of service to BPRD’s board. Thank you, Ted! For the 2021-22 year, Ariel Méndez will serve as chair of the board and Deb Schoen will be vice chair. The legislative liaison will be work for play Nathan Hovekamp. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion The district is nearing the home stretch on a year-long project to develop a roadmap for how it can improve in being a more diverse, equitable and inclusive organization. The project goals are to assess strengths, opportunity for improvement and to develop actions to build trust with members of the community who have been historically underrepresented and underserved. BPRD hired Talitha Consults to lead the project, which includes the survey, an organizational assessment and action plan. The district will share the survey results, organizational assessment and action plan by late 2021, and begin implementing the actions immediately following.
