Found music appears in the film in a number of ways: Ali Wood: Ali Wood is shown via publicity, her truck and practising for her Cunnamulla concert - at the time of the film, she toured outback Queensland with her own piano. Wood was a young musician who tried to make it as a pianist in a variety of forms. At one point she had an eponymous website, but she allowed the site to lapse. It can be found at the Wayback Machine here, with this brief note on her career: Ali Wood was the first Australian pianist to make an American debut at Carnegie Hall. She has performed over 500 concerts in 26 countries on 6 continents. She has performed for heads of state and royalty and works extensively with young musicians and underprivileged children. Ali began piano lessons at the age of 4 and at 13 became the youngest pianist in Australia to be awarded the Performers Diploma with Distinction. She was the Arts Award winner for the Young Australian of the Year Awards and the recipient of the emeritus medal for music from the University of The Andes, in Venezuela. She is a Paul Harris Fellow. There are a number of references which can be googled, as with an interview here, but at time of writing she didn’t have a wiki. Brass band: A brass band is briefly shown going into a number: Marto: As town community radio DJ, aspiring band member, devotee of ABC music show Rage (only the good bits when heavy music is played), fan of The Screaming Jets, etc, Marto introduces a variety of musical notes, including but not limited to: Slim Dusty: Cunnamulla is agog with news of the arrival of Slim Dusty for a concert. As with Ali Wood, the film doesn’t show Slim Dusty performing, but his single Cunnamulla Feller appears on the soundtrack performed by him and by The Screaming Jets. This is a song which featured in The Slim Dusty Movie. Slim Dusty has a wiki here; The Screaming Jets’ wiki is here, and has links to the band’s official sites: .
