On behalf of the officers and myself, we welcome you back for the start of the 2017-2018 academic year. While you were gone enjoying your summer, earning internship experience, starting a new job or traveling the globe, lots of very exciting things happened at UM! President Julio Frenk named Dr. Jeffrey L. Duerk as the new executive vice president and provost, Dr. Patricia Whitely brought the esteemed Dr. Ryan Holmes to UM as the next Associate Vice President and Dean of Students, John Quelch was named the Dean of the School of Business and construction began on the new student housing and Photo by JC Ridley, IA ’02 school of architecture studio! With many great new faces and buildings joining our campus this coming year, it is only fitting that the The US News and World Report ranked the University of Miami as the 44th best University in the nation, giving UM back its rightful place as the number one school in the state of 2017-2018 OFFICERS Florida. As the University continues to grow and flourish, we understand the importance of Iron Arrow following suite while nurturing our legacy as the guardians of the University’s traditions and ideals. Owen D. Berry We are very pleased to announce that on Tuesday, September 12th, 2017, Iron Arrow will be hosting a Chief dialogue on Cultural Appropriation. The officers, the Council of Elders and others have worked tirelessly 941.662.6332 throughout this Summer to plan a colloquium of sorts that will give members the opportunity to learn [email protected] and better understand exactly cultural appropriation is, what role cultural appropriation plays within Iron Arrow and discuss current practices one by one. We believe that having a meeting dedicated solely to Adrian Z. Nuñez the topic of cultural appropriation is incredibly important. With this Fall's nomination deadline approaching quickly (Submission by email on Monday, October 16th, 2017 by 5:00 PM) we wanted to take the opportunity to break down the role of the sponsor throughout the entire selections, tapping and initiation process.
