More info on page 8. This year’s Winnebago Tribal Council Elections are in the history books, and we congratulate incumbents; John Blackhawk & Louis C. Houghton, Jr. on their reelection to offi ce, and welcome Mr. Larry Payer to service. Councilman Payer was the top vote getter with 242 ballots cast in his favor. John Blackhawk came in a close second receiving 236 votes, and Louis C. Houghton, Jr. rounded out the top three with 208 votes. Other candidates receiving votes in the election were: Darla LaPointe-139 votes, Maunka Morgan-138 votes, and Charles Aldrich-130 votes. A Swearing In ceremony was held on October 7th for the newly elected members, and a reorganizational meeting was conducted on Thursday, October 8th.
