However, the SAC Championship was originally scheduled for April 17 but was moved up a week due to both the Pioneers and Bears losing their opponents due to COVID shutdowns for this weekend. • Lenoir-Rhyne has won 20 straight games against South Atlantic Conference opponents with two of those wins coming in the NCAA Playoffs. The last loss to a SAC foe came back on Nov. 11, 2017 when the Bears dropped a 24-20 contest at Catawba. • Lenoir-Rhyne will be looking for the 24th conference championship in program history and their third straight SAC title. • LR is looking to become the first three-peat champions since they did it themselves back in 2012-14. The last non-Lenoir-Rhyne team to win three straight SAC titles was Carson-Newman who accomplished the feat from 2002-04. • Lenoir-Rhyne owns the all-time head-to-head matchup 13-10 against Tusculum and has won eight straight against the Pionners. The last time Lenoir-Rhyne lost to Tusculum came back in 2011 when they suffered a one points loss, 26-25.
