We propose a ‘playing window’ of approximately three weeks for each round of the knockout Cups. Extensions to these windows will only be granted in exceptional circumstances, such as continued inclement weather or matches in a higher-ranked competition taking precedence. Schools are reminded that Association Rule 2f (p18-19) sets out the order of precedence for matches, which is as follows: 1. Matches in ESFA Competitions 2. Matches in MSFA Cup Competitions 3. Matches in MSFA League Competitions 4. Matches in Borough Cup Competitions 5. Matches in Borough League Competitions 6. Friendly fixtures What this means, in practice, is that postponing a County Cup game in order to play in a local competition is not considered an acceptable reason for an extension. The proposed playing windows are as follows: Round One: Monday 2nd November - Saturday 21st November Round Two: Monday 23rd November - Saturday 12th December Round Three: Monday 11th January - Saturday 30th January Quarter-Final: Monday 1st February - Saturday 26th February Semi-Final: Monday 1st March - Saturday 26th March In the Brigg Cup, the group matches must be completed by Saturday 30th January 2021, with the Quarter-Finals and Semi-Finals following the same schedule as the other competitions. In the event of additional lockdowns and / or restrictions, these dates will be reviewed by an Emer- gency Committee. For the latest news, information and updated Cup draws, go to: www.msfa.co.uk Resources for playing safely We recommend that all schools make use of the English Schools’ Football As- sociation’s Guidance for Restarting and Maintaining Football at: https://schoolsfootball.org/covid-19-guidance/ This page is regularly updated and includes a template for a COVID-19 Risk Assessment. ALL schools are required to complete a Risk Assessment BE- FORE playing a match in this season’s County Cups. However, there is no re- quirement for this template to be used; schools may use their own documents and templates id they wish. Schools who have not submitted their Risk Assessments will NOT be permit- ted to play matches in MSFA Competitions. Middlesex Schools’ FA is committed to organising competitions which are en- joyable for students but as COVID-secure as possible. We recommend that schools share knowledge and best practices amongst themselves and with their local clubs so as not to over-burden themselves with administrative tasks and to ensure their matches are played safely. Consideration should be given to: • Kit and changing facilities • First Aid • Pitch location and layout • Travel to and from the match You may also wish to consider other factors when completing your assess- ment.. All risk assessments should be sent to Gareth Coates. RULES OF THE MIDDLESEX SCHOOLS’ FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION 1. TITLE, CONSTITUTION AND AIMS a.The name of this Association shall be “The Middlesex Schools’ Football Association” (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) b.The purpose of the Association shall be to develop and promote football within the County of Middlesex. Those Boroughs and/or Districts which are geographically within Middlesex, but fall within other Counties for the purposes of Local Government, shall first affiliate to that County’s Schools Football Association as determined by the English Schools’ Football Association (hereinafter referred to as “ESFA”). This will not preclude schools and/or Representative Teams from competing in competitions organised by the Associa- tion, provided their parent County Association does not object. c. The Association shall affiliate to ESFA and to the South-East England Schools’ Football Association and may organise teams to participate in competitions organised by those bodies. d. Each Borough or District must form a body that shall take responsibility for managing Schools’ Football within that area.
