(Jacobs) on behalf of Highways England. The aim of the survey was to assess terrestrial invertebrate species diversity and biotope/habitat quality at 3 locations within 500 m of the proposed upgrade to dual carriageway of the A1 between Morpeth and Felton: Section A - Morpeth to Felton. Phase 1 surveys carried out in 2016 were used to identify areas containing a mosaic of habitats that were likely to support a diverse range, and abundance of terrestrial invertebrates. River Coquet and Coquet Valley Woodlands Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) also fell within the 500 m buffer and was identified as a survey location due to its conservation status and the listing of insects of conservation importance within its citation.
