Situation and Amenities Hinton Charterhouse is one of the most appealing villages to the south of Bath and is within an easy drive of the city centre. The community is extremely active with two village pubs, a shop and a lively cricket club. Comprehensive shopping, business and S recreational facilities can be found about 7 miles to the north in the City of Bath, a cultural hub boasting the world famous Roman Baths as well as a number of renowned venues, including the Theatre Royal and the recently refurbished Holburne Museum and Art Gallery. The M4 motorway can be accessed at M Junction 17 or Junction 18, linking with London and the wider national motorway network. Regular services run from the mainline railway T stations at Bath Spa (London Paddington from 88 minutes) and Westbury (London Paddington 79 minutes). Electrified railway line is currently being laid between London and the West Country which will reduce journey times according to Network Rail. Bristol Airport is about 22 miles to the west. The area is well known for the quality of E its schooling. Schools in the area include Freshford Primary, Prior Park College, Stonar, Monkton Combe, King Edwards, The Royal High School for Girls and Kingswood in Bath. Further afield, but within easy reach are Badminton, Downside, Marlborough, Millfield and St. Mary’s Calne. Sporting activities in the area include hunting K with the Avon Vale, rugby at Bath, Bristol and Gloucester, county cricket at Bristol, horse racing at Bath, Salisbury, Wincanton and Chepstow, as well as fishing and canoeing on the River Avon, the River Kennet and the Avon canal. Home Farm Home Farm is a charming stone house built in 1998 by renowned local builders Emery. It is not listed. The class of the build and the materials used are of the highest quality. The house was built in the Georgian style and exudes charm, standing centrally to the main gardens. The current owners have since undertaken an extensive refurbishment of the house in conjunction with popular interior designers Woodhouse & Law, based in Bath. They have extended the accommodation including converting an attached double garage into a wonderful family room, enlarging the utility area and connecting the second floor to create two additional bedrooms and a shower room. The works have enhanced the layout to create a lovely family house, standing in beautifully matured gardens and grounds. Internally the proportions are very elegant, with high ceilings, deep skirting boards and fine cornices. Each room is very spacious and has wealth of natural light. The ground floor also has under floor heating throughout as do most of the bathrooms. The drawing room is of particular note, with a charming fireplace, walnut floorboards and a delightful view of the garden and fields beyond.
