This issue of the Township Newsletter is packed with information Contact Information ...................... 3 Iabout many of the projects the Board of Supervisors and Administration have been working on for many years. All this hard work is now starting to come to fruition. Many exciting projects are nearing completion and all Trash Information .............................. 3 Northampton Township residents will begin seeing the positive benefits of these projects. Administration .................................. 4 The Board recently approved amendments to our zoning and subdivision and land development ordinances that incorporate design guidelines for the Village Overlay Districts of Richboro and Holland. The objectives of Tax Collector ..................................... 4 these amendments are to define uniform design standards to further the vision for the Village Overlay Districts (details on page 7). Public Works ..................................... 5 Another exciting development is the rebirth of the Mill Race Inn. After being closed for nearly 20 years, there is Northampton Township a renaissance for the Inn in the near future. In April, the Board approved a proposal from a developer to restore Police Department ......................... 5 the original mill building and incorporate into a Mediterranean Restaurant and event space for 100 to 150 people. Thanks to the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority for their assistance in this project (details on page 6). Mill Race Inn Redevelopment ............ 6 Late last year, the Public Works Building Expansion Project got under way and is nearing completion in mid- Northampton Township July. This project will significantly increase the efficiencies of Department operation and provide much needed Office of the Fire Marshal .............. 6 space for the crews to perform their duties (details on page 5). Recycling more helps the local economy by decreasing trash collection costs and provides great benefits for the environment by reducing the amount of waste materials entering landfills. Dining local Henry Wynkoop ................................ 9 increases local revenues allowing businesses to thrive. TBoards and commissions provide a vital service to the Township and the Board of Supervisors. Citizens wishing to serve must complete an application. Applications are due in the Township Administration office by November 15, 2017. The Board of Supervisors will interview interested applicants in December and appoint candidates for these vacancies during its January 2, 2018 re-organization meeting. Tax Collector n July 1, Council Rock School real estate tax bills will be mailed out to Northampton homeowners. Also, the Council Rock School Occupation tax bill will be going out to all working residents, 18 and over. I have generated an email database of Northampton Oresidents that I send out tax office reminders of dates and deadlines. Currently over 600 residents have signed up for this free service. If you wish to enlist, please do so by emailing me at [email protected]. Bob Borkowski, Northampton Township Tax Collector TOWNSHIP TIDBIT: Did you know that Northampton Township is designated a second class township, with a governing body of five supervisors elected for six year terms by the residents of the township. Also, a tax collector and three auditors are elected too. TRASH SCHEDULE FOR LABOR DAY WEEK: September 4 - 9, 2017 MONDAY COLLECTION: No trash/recycling pick up on Labor Day, September 4, 2017. Trash, recycling, and one bulk item will be collected on Tuesday, September 5. Yard waste will be collected on Wednesday, September 6. TUESDAY COLLECTION: Trash, recycling, and one bulk item will be collected on Wednesday, September 6. Yard waste will be collected on Thursday, September 7.
