RADPAC enjoyed another record-breaking year in 2011 as a result of these contributions. In fact, RADPAC raised more hard money and had more contributors in 2011 than in any previous year in RADPAC’s history. The spectrum of RADPAC activities, from direct campaign contributions, to imaging policy discussions at fund raisers, to hands-on education of Members of Congress at radiologists’ practice sites, provides the ability for our specialty to directly and effectively advocate our important issues. It is those Members of Congress who create the legislation and policies so vital to the success and preservation of our specialty and to the continued well-being of our patients. This would not be possible without the thousands of generous contributions to RADPAC from responsible, concerned radiologists. To discuss adding a council representative for your state, please contact Ted Burnes at [email protected] or Heather Kaiser at [email protected]. 2011 RADPAC Accomplishments Another Record Breaking Year for RADPAC For the 2011-2012 election cycle the RADPAC Board set three major goals: Raise $1,250,000 in hard money in 2011 Have 3,000 contributors in 2011 Raise $2,500,000 in 2011-2012 election-cycle RADPAC set records again in 2011 for most hard money contributors and most hard money raised and surpassed the first two goals in 2011. 2011 2010 2011 vs. 2010 Hard Money Contributions $1,454,028 $1,211,477 +$242,551 Hard Money Contributors 3,164 2,714 +450 % of ACRA Members Contributing 14% 13% +1% RADPAC also raised over $84,500 from 330 contributors in soft money contributions. This puts the total money raised for 2011 at $1,538,528. RADPAC’s Other Accomplishments: ● RADPAC had 375 online contributors in 2011 surpassing the 2009 record of 248. ● RADPAC had 86 group practices with 100% contribution participation in 2011, including 25 that were new practices. In 2010, RADPAC had 73 groups practices at 100% contribution participation. ● RADPAC’s contributions to Members of Congress and political committees ranked 2nd out of more than 135 health professional PACs. In total, RADPAC contributed more than $1,052,500 in 2011. ● RADPAC hosted more than 20 fundraising events in Washington, D.C. for Members of Congress and organized 14 fundraisers for Members of Congress throughout the country.
