Last year, the Cougars compiled a 24-11 overall record, a 14-4 regular-season mark in Southern Conference play en route to an appearance in the conference championship game. They also earned a postseason berth to the College Basketball Invitational, defeated 2013 NIT champion and No. 21-ranked Baylor (63-59) on the road and recorded an impressive 11-2 mark away from TD Arena which tied for the second- most road wins in Division I in 2012-13. • The College of Charleston returns 10 letterwinners who accounted for 68 percent of the team’s scoring and 68 percent of the team’s rebounding in 2012-13. Three of the team’s projected starters played at least 29 minutes or more in each game a year ago. • CofC enters its inaugural season in the Colonial Athletic Assocation after officially joining the league on July 1, 2013. The Cougars are 35-13 (.729) all-time versus CAA (former and current) schools having faced Towson (2-1), Delaware (2-0), Drexel (2-0), George Mason (3-2), Georgia State (16-6), James Madison (1-0), UNC Wilmington (8-4) and Old Dominion (1- 0). • The Cougars were picked to finish third in the preseason CAA coaches poll behind Towson and Drexel.
