The summit was held in the wake of a succession of regional and international developments. The leaders discussed numerous issues concerning the Arab world, particularly developments regarding the Palestinian cause, the situation in Syria, the development and reform of the League of Arab States and the establishment of the Arab Court of Human Rights. To express its thanks and appreciation to His Excellency, Mr. Jalal Talabani, President of the Republic of Iraq, and the President of the twenty-third ordinary session of the Council of the League of Arab States at summit level, for accepting the task of following up the implementation of the resolutions of the Baghdad summit (2012). 2. To express gratitude to the Member States of the Follow-up Committee for the Implementation of Resolutions and Commitments and the Secretary-General for their commendable efforts in following up implementation of the resolutions of that summit.
