We will take suggestions and requests but we can not guarantee a family a specific player. If a temporary player is assigned to your family and you do not take him you will be removed from the housing list. Here is some important information to keep in mind when you decide to take a player for the summer: x It is important for families to realize that they are signing on to take a Cotuit Kettleers baseball player for the summer that could have a contract or possibly only a temporary contract. Do not ask us for a permanent player. Last year 13 temporary players made the team. x CCBL policy with regards to the number of players we can have on the team has changed. We will have 25 to 30 contracted players by the July CCBL deadline. We will no longer have an exact number of families or players. It is possible that a family will only have a player for part of the summer. x Team USA tryouts are in June. x It is just as likely to have a contracted player only be here 2 weeks as it is to have a temporary that stays the summer. x The last 2 summers we have had at least one family that does not have a player at the end of the season. Please prepare your family for this scenario. x Your family must be willing to take whatever player we choose to place in your home. x Please try to be available to take your player the first week of June. x If you have any vacation time planned please let us know so that we can make the proper arrangements to have the player live with another family while you are away. x We do have some temporary homes that take only temps for that first week before opening day. It is possible we could have as many as 30+ players here for the first week. We always welcome comments and if you have any questions regarding placement please call or email anyone involved with housing and we will be happy to answer questions or resolve any issues. $ FRS\ RI ZKDW QRW WR GR« ,W LV LPSRUWDQW IRU HYHU\ IDPLO\ WR XQGHUVWDQG WKDW WKH\ DUH WDNLQJ LQ D person for the summer that needs a home and support regardless of race, contract/temp, position or pitcher. ³$Q\KRZ,DPQRWWU\LQJWREHOLWWOHZKDW\RXGR, YHDOZD\VWKRXJKW\RXGLGDILQHMREDQGOLNHG\RXIURPWKH first time you came out to the house to discuss having a ballplayer. I know it must be a tough job and you do everything you can to place the right player w/ the right family. That said, we are a bit confused. Not only did you give us a kid w/ no car but you gave us another pitcher! I told XXXX when he got home from baseball tonight, and his response was, "Bummer man". Frankly, my only reason for having a player is for XXXX. Having a position player after the last two years of pitchers was a lot of fun for him. I think his favorite thing is riding in the car w/ our player for the games that he bat boys. So this is somewhat of a double whammy for XXXX. Plus, he has informed me that 14 is to old to be a bat boy so he will be hanging up his uniform after this season. Anyhow Lisa, my intention is not to make your job harder, only to try and make MY little baseball boy enjoy his summer. If you think this boy won't mind being stuck out here in the boonies w/ no car, OK then. Maybe he'll like weeding! I can only hope. Thanks for all that you do, don't think that you're not appreciated. Put your feet up and have a cup of tea. That's what I'm doing. 7KHQVWDUWDOORYHUDJDLQWRPRUURZ:H
